Russia is trying to send a Ukrainian teenager, Bohdan Yermokhin, to Russian army!
Ukrainian teenager Bohdan Yermokhin has received a summons to report to the Moscow Oblast enlistment office on 19 December 2023, reports Ukrainian Ministry of Reintegration.
Bohdan is an orphan, he is only 17.
During the capture of Mariupol, the occupiers took him along with other children to Moscow, and from there to the Polyana camp. In July 2022, despite having a legal guardian, his own sister, he was placed under the care of a Russian family.
According to Bohdan, he was issued a Russian passport and enrolled in school. In April 2023, he tried to return to Ukraine, but was detained at the border with Belarus and returned to his foster family. He really wants to come back to Ukraine, he said this personally on October 24 at a meeting with Russian Ombudsman Moskalkova, who said he would be released, reported by Bohdan's lawyer Kateryna Bobrovska. But he has not been released yet and the time is not on his side now. Perhaps this is slowing down by Maria Lvova-Belova, Children's Rights Commissioner for the President of the Russian Federation.
According to the ministry of Reintegration of Ukraine, 4 official letters were sent to the Russian Federation demanding Bohdan's return to Ukraine. However, the boy has already received a summons to report to the military commissariat of the Moscow region. On November 19, Bohdan will turn 18 years old and after that he will probably be sent to the Russian army.
"We need to fight for every Ukrainian child kidnapped by Russia. What's happening now is a public violation of all international laws. Bohdan has a sister in Ukraine who is his legal guardian and is fighting for his return back home. All global media should act now and reach out to their government and save Bohdan's life before it's too late!" commented Jane Alieva, a founder of "Mama Jane" Charity Foundation and a director of an international legal campaign "Payback4Ukraine".
